Experience & Training
Melissa has over 20 years’ experience as a voice actor, broadcaster, presenter, entrepreneur & communications consultant. Always fond of spinning a good yarn, she has an English Literature degree & studied acting at Bristol Old Vic & The American Conservatory Theatre, San Francisco.
Voice Over & Presenter
Melissa kicked off her career as station voice at Surf 107.2, Brighton in 1999, then hosting breakfast for the GWR & Chrysalis radio groups. Numerous gigs for major brands followed, including Heineken - where she was the main voice for their ‘Found @ Thirst’ annual Caribbean DJ competition for over 4 years. She is also highly experienced in producing and presenting for podcasting.
Actress & Host
Melissa has hosted many a good gig, including ‘The Bishopstock Blues Festival 2003’ - featuring Nina Simone. She cut her acting chops as the Empress of China in Aladdin (2003) & appeared in a number of radio dramas & stage performances, ranging from Shakespeare to modern plays. She is currently on the Pixar casting database.
Entrepreneur & Educator
In 2010, Melissa founded national podcasting platform, Audio Enable and it’s not-for-profit arm, Radio in Schools - in association with Global Radio, the UK’s largest commercial radio group. She works closely with the education sector, offering training, writing GCSE study guides and lecturing at Ravensbourne College, London, in live radio.
Communications Consultant
Melissa has an MSc in Marketing Communications & spent 3 years as Head of Comms for digital agency, e3 (now Great State). She went on to consult for agencies & start-ups, including SecondSync, which was acquired by Twitter in 2014.
She also voiced their corporate videos.
Representation & Clients
Having recently returned from the U.S., Melissa is now based in the UK as a full-time voice actor and presenter. She is currently represented by a range of agents across the US. Current clients include Amazon, Google, Grand Theft Auto V & Late Night Tales - a series of artist-curated compilation albums.
