Students are taken on after an initial phone consultation. You will be requested to send in a short recording prior to the first full session (you can do this on your iPhone and a script will be provided), where Melissa can assess you.

From January 2021, coaching sessions will be via Zoom.

Melissa has worked in the VO industry (link to bio page) for over 20 years , She cut her teeth as breakfast host for the GWR & Chrysalis radio groups and has voiced for a large number of clients (link to client page) both in the UK, US & Europe, for brands including Grand Theft Auto V, Facebook, Amazon and Google.

Melissa has extensive experience teaching and training - founding Audio Enabled & Radio in Schools in 2005, rolling the project out across 33 stations on the Heart network in partnership with Global Radio. The initiative went on to win an Arqiva Award in 2006.

She has lectured and coached in a range of subjects, including live radio, VO and marketing for Ravensbourne University, Bristol Old Vic, local LEAs and other education providers. She has produced a number of learning resources for young people including the GCSE study guide for radio and numerous media literacy study aids.

Marketing Specialist

Melissa has a specific focus on Marketing - a vital element of running a successful VO business. She has an MSc in Marketing Communications from The University of the West of England and was Head of Comms at digital agency, e3 for 3 years. She has consulted for a range of agencies and startups including Ambitious PR, Dark Angels and SecondSync (co-founded by her husband), which was acquired by Twitter in 2014. Melissa lived in California with her young family for 2 years, where she worked as a VO.

Melissa is now based in Bristol, UK, where she works from her garden studio.
