Experience
Melissa has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience teaching and training. She founded Audio Enable & Radio in Schools in 2005, rolling the project out across 33 stations on the Heart network in partnership with Global Radio. The initiative went on to win an Arqiva Award in 2006.
She has lectured and coached across a range of subjects, including presentation skills, live radio and The Business of VO for education providers, including Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Ravensbourne University, and LEAs across the UK.
Melissa specialises in Marketing - with an MSc from The University of the West of England. She was Head of Comms at digital agency, e3, and took on a range of consultancy roles for startups - most notably, SecondSync (co-founded by her husband), which was acquired by Twitter in 2014.
She regularly speaks at industry events - most recently, at the Worldwide Radio Summit in LA. She lived and worked as a VO in California for 2 years and is now based in Bristol, working from her garden studio.
